Wednesday

Seriously, I can't believe it's already the end of March. This is quite a busy week we're in now, as well as the upcoming one...Let's see, tonight is FAB at work 5-7pm - Free Art Bonding. We'll be working on decorative papers, so grab your stash and let's create!

I just finally finished my piece for the Auction.
Here it is, entitled "Starting Over"

And here is a close up shot of some detail:

This will be available at the Art Auction
Please join us for a fun evening of friendship
and great art for a great cause!

Thursday night I need to prepare for my upcoming workshop at Jerry's Artarama. If you're curious about the fantastic world of collage, join us for a fun and informative workshop. You'll learn the ins and outs of creating with stuff you already have or just can't part with. No worries! Put it on a canvas and embrace your treasures!
Call me or e-mail me if you have any questions...

Friday, we head down to Southern Pines for the long awaited opening for the CMMAG M4-T Challenge at Artist Alley. The Carolinas Mixed Media Art Guild has once again stepped up to the challenge of creating some CRAZY art! This time we needed to put a certain 22 items together: things like buttons, pine needles, ribbon, glass, something from the kitchen, something that starts with a "p", fabric, coins or tokens, something blue, metal washers...22 of these crazy things that don't normally go in the same drawer, much less on the same art piece! The top secret results will be on display for about a month, starting this Friday, the 26th of March. Join us for the presentation of ongoing talent at Artist Alley!

Saturday is my workshop, Creative Collage Techniques at Jerry's Artarama. Please join us if you can!
We plan on having a ton of fun and coming up with some more crazy creations!

Saturday afternoon, Trevor and Raven tie the knot! Trevor will be the first of all of our friends' kids that will be getting married. It's hard to believe they are old enough for that...Weren't they just playing with He-Man and building forts and stuff?? Time sure flies and then your kids grow up. Sigh.

I think I have a day off on Sunday...Yeh!

One last thing I wanted to post, is more painted fabric
I've been working on.

Welcome SPRING!

We missed you! Thanks so much for coming back. You are so refreshing and beautiful. Here are a few shots taken on your first day:
The Tulip Magnolia that Grandpa John planted

Daffodils

Forsythia

This is what I love about North Carolina! No waiting until April or May for the first sign of Spring. Day one and it's here! We spent the first day of Spring at the Artathon for Haiti in Downtown Raleigh at White Collar Crime painting. What a great way to welcome the new season. Lots of creative energy flowing. I loved the venue too. Here are a few shots from the day:

Here are some shots of my piece in progress that is almost complete:

When complete, it will be available at the Live Auction
Please come out for this great cause and help the victims in Haiti!

It really was a fun day and they played the best music, so it was just like painting in the studio!
Great job Carissa and Heather!
